poetry is for everyone.

and yet, paradoxically, I write for myself. I write to help me process the world around me and my internal world. to foster connection to the universe, myself, and others. but I hope that, in doing so, I also create a moment of meaningful thought for any reader. that I might light a spark of familiarity or connect with an audience, be it one person or one thousand.

rediscovering my love for writing reinforced my belief that poetry should be accessible, that it should offer something to anyone who reads it, and that it does not need to become a precious art form, available only to certain circles.
